licensed massage therapist
I received my massage training from the Phoenix Therapeutic Massage College in Flagstaff, Arizona. After graduating in 2003, I studied La Stone therapy, which is the application of hot and cold stones to facilitate deep relaxation and healing. I continue to learn and grow as a massage therapist and over the years I have expanded my education to incorporate many aspects of massage, as well as a better understanding of the body. I love what I do and I believe whole-heartedly in the many wonderful benefits of massage.
I also have doula training, which was a powerful experience and strengthened my belief that pregnancy is a sacred space, beautiful as well as challenging. Although I am not currently practicing as a doula, my massage practice has been influenced by the lessons I received, including the importance of listening, being focused and present in the moment, and establishing my client's trust.
In 2004, I moved to Portland where I have been enthusiastically working with clients to release stress, tension, and pain. I have experience in various settings including working alongside a chiropractor, at a spa, and chair massage at local farmer's markets to increase awareness of massage therapy.
Grassroots Wellness, LLC was established in 2008. As the name implies, I truly believe that the healing benefits of massage are influential in balancing physical, mental, and emotional health and vitality. I aim to create a nurturing space in which to encourage this.
Outside of work, I enjoy writing, exploring nature, music, and traveling. My son, Tristin, was born in 2007, so these past years have been an adventure in motherhood.
I look forward to working with you, and please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
